			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Folks, let&#8217;s don&#8217;t get too excited about Google&#8217;s announcement of a &#8220;Chrome&#8221; operating system.  They&#8217;ve already said that it&#8217;s oriented toward netbooks and other entry-level PC devices, and that most of the interactivity will be web-based.</p>
<p>In other words &#8211; it&#8217;s not a desktop operating system as you understand the term.  It&#8217;s not going to compete with windows.  It&#8217;s going to be a glorified browser than doesn&#8217;t need Windows to run.</p>
<p>Is that significant?  Yes.  But it&#8217;s not a Windows (or Linux)-killer.</p>
